The 3rd meeting of Shariah Supervisory Council of Midland Bank Limited (MDB) was held on 31.08.2020 in the Board room of the Bank’s Head Office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
Chairman of the Bank’s Shariah Supervisory Council, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Azad presided over the meeting. Members of the Shariah Supervisory Council Dr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam Al-maruf and Mr. N K A Mobin FCA, FCS attended. Bank’s Managing Director and CEO Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, along with senior management of the Bank’s Islami Banking Division also attended the meeting.
Important issues on shariah based banking services, approval of new Shariah products and overall business status were discussed in the meeting.
It may be mentioned, MDB started offering Shariah based Islamic Banking services titled “Midland Bank Saalam” on 23rd April, 2020.
“Dua” seeking Allah’s blessings and relief from Covid 19 was held. Allah’s mercy was sought for all who are impacted by the pandemic and for eradication of the virus from the country and the world.
