Midland Bank PLC. (MDB) held its 17th Shariah Supervisory Committee (SSC) meeting on October 18, 2026, at the Board Room of the Bank’s Head Office at N.B. Tower, Gulshan-2, Dhaka.
In the presence of Imtiaz U. Ahmed, Managing Director, Dr. Mufti Muhammad Abu Sayeed Khan, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, presided over the meeting. Other Committee members, Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Nesar Uddin and Dr. Muhammad Shahjahan Madani, were also present.
The Shariah Supervisory Committee plays a vital role in overseeing the Bank’s Islami Banking operations and ensuring compliance with Shariah principles and relevant regulatory guidelines. Md. Zahid Hossain, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer; Md. Nazmul Huda Sarkar, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer; Md. Didarul Islam, Chief Financial Officer; Abul Kalam Azad, Head of Islami Banking; Mohammad Noorunnabi, Head of Operations Division; the Deputy Secretary of the Board Secretariat; and other officials of the Bank’s Head Office were also present at the meeting.
