Midland Bank Limited (MDB) distributed loan facility under Milk Production and Artificial Insemination Programme to purchase Cattle under Bangladesh Bank re-financing scheme directly to the Women Entrepreneurs @ 5% at a simple ceremony held on 07th February 2017 in the Narayanpur Union of Balabo Thana of Narsingdi.
Sachatan Shahajjo Sangstha (SSS), a local NGO, licensed by MRA provided assistance to MDB for disbursement of the loan facility. The NGO will also assist to purchase the Cattles and will follow up with the borrowers for proper utilization of the loan and its timely recovery on behalf of MDB.
Mr. Mosleh Uddin Khan, Chairman, Narayanpur Union Parishad was present as Chief Gust and Md. Shakhawat Hossan, Livestock Officer was present as Special Guest in the Programme.
Bank distributed Tk.20.00 Lac @ 5% among 20 Women Entrepreneurs directly through building a Cluster for the period of 48 months with 14 months grace period under re-finance scheme of Bangladesh Bank with the purpose of improving the lives of the target women and bring them into the economic main stream of the country with access to capacity building and bank loan.
Among others, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal, Head of Emerging Corporate and Special Programmes Division, Md. Ahsan Jamil Hossan, Head of Agri Division, Sudipto Roy Chowdhury, Head of Noarsingdi Branch of MDB and Ms. Jasmin Rashid, Executive Director of SSS were also present in the programme.
