Seminar on Financial Literacy and Career Workshop at Presidency University

Midland Bank PLC. in collaboration with Presidency University jointly organized a seminar captioned “Financial Literacy and Career Workshop” on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at PU Campus.

The Midland Bank PLC. was represented by Mr. Md. Rashed Akter, Head of the Retail Distribution Division and Chief Bancassurance Officer (CBO) and Mr. Mohammad Faruq Ur Rahman, Manager, Financial Literacy Wing, Retail Distribution Division.

The seminar was conducted from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM and aimed at equipping students with essential financial skills and providing insights into career opportunities in the finance and banking sector.

The speakers explained to the audience the importance of financial literacy, focusing on budgeting, saving, and investment options for students as they prepare to enter the workforce. The speakers also discussed careers in finance and banking, sharing insights into skill building, professional development, and job prospects in the banking sector.

The program was well attended by students of School of Business who asked numerous questions mostly related to financial concepts and career building in this sector. It was a very lively discussion.

The seminar was inaugurated by professor Dr. Anwarul Hauqe, Principal Advisor, who warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of such initiatives. He expressed gratitude to Midland Bank PLC. for their collaboration and encouraged them to organize similar sessions in the future.

The program was also attended by professor Abul Kalam, Dean, School of Business, Mohammad Zahedur Rahman, Controller of Examinations, Afroza Helen, Director, Admin & Logistics and Office of the Students Affairs and other School of Business Faculty members. This successful event not only enhanced students’ understanding of financial literacy but also inspired them to explore careers in the dynamic field of finance and banking.
