Midland Bank PLC. is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sanjida Kasem as an Independent Director of the Bank.
Ms. Sanjida Kasem is a distinguished professional and the third lady Chartered Accountant in practice in Bangladesh. She is a Fellow Member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), having qualified in 1991.
In her illustrious career, Ms. Sanjida Kasem served on secondment with C&L, Singapore during 1992–93 and became a Partner at A.Q.C. in 1995. She was also a Partner of EY Global from July 2017 to February 2021.
A fully accredited Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), USA, and an ISO 9000 Certificated Lead Auditor, Ms. Sanjida Kasem has extensive experience in leading major audits, special reviews, procurement audits, and financial review assignments for multinational companies, international donor agencies, and listed organizations.
Her engagement portfolio as Engagement Partner includes leading audits for reputed organizations such as Grameenphone Bangladesh Ltd., British American Tobacco Bangladesh Ltd., Camellia Plc, Nestlé Bangladesh Ltd., GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh Ltd., Nokia Siemens Ltd., Singer Bangladesh Ltd., Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd., among others.
In addition, Ms. Kasem has successfully led numerous assignments with international development partners including the World Bank, USAID, ADB, and other donor agencies.
She has been a Vice-President and Councillor of ICMAB (2007) and an active member of various committees of ICAB. Ms. Kasem continues to lead and participate in numerous professional and development training programs at both the national and international levels, contributing significantly to the advancement of the accounting and auditing profession in Bangladesh.
