Midland Bank PLC (MDB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brand Empower, a renowned Dubai-based group of companies operating three well-known brands in Bangladesh — Cinnabon (maker of the world’s most famous cinnamon rolls), Second Cup Coffee (serving a variety of hot and cold beverages), and Carvel (serving original soft ice cream) — on August 7, 2025.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Board Room of Midland Bank’s Head Office in Gulshan-2, Dhaka. Mr. Md. Nazmul Huda Sarkar, Chief Technology Officer of Midland Bank, and Mr. Desikan Lakshmi Narayanan, General Manager of Brand Empower, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under this partnership, all Midland Bank cardholders (Debit, Credit & Prepaid) will enjoy a 20% discount on the total bill at all Second Cup Coffee, Cinnabon, and Carvel outlets operated by Brand Empower in Bangladesh. Md. Abed-Ur-Rahman, Head of Cards, Midland Bank; and Abul Basar Al Panir, Assistant Manager, HR, Brand Empower, were also present at the event, along with officials from both organizations.
