MIDLAND BANK PLC. PARTNERS WITH Independent University TO PROMOTE FINANCIAL LITERACY

Midland Bank PLC. in collaboration with Career Guidance Placement and Alumni Relations (CGP&AR) of Independent University, Bangladesh jointly organized a seminar on Financial Literacy on 17 November 2025 at the DMK Lecture Gallery of Independent University, Bangladesh.

The seminar was graced by honorable Vice Chancellor of the Independent University, Bangladesh Professor M. Tamim as special guest and delivered a valuable speech while Mr. Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO of Midland Bank PLC. graced the occasion as a Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker of the programme, who delivered an insightful presentation.

The seminar was attended by distinguished guests, faculty members, and students of the University. Among them, Mr. Md. Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution Division, Financial Literacy Wing and Chief Bancassurance Officer (CBO); Mr. Mohammad Faruq Ur Rahman, Head of Agent Banking Division, Retail Liability & Manager, Financial Literacy Wing; and Mr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Head of Retail Sales Department, along with other officials from Midland Bank were present.

From Independent University, Bangladesh, Kazi Md Husamuddin, Director, Finance & Accounts Department, Jyotishi Das, Director, Finance & Accounts Department. The program was coordinated by the CGP&AR Office team, including Sharmeen Islam, Assistant Director and Mukta Rani Nath, Assistant Career Counselor.

The seminar aimed to enhance awareness of financial literacy among students and future professionals, equipping them with the essential knowledge to make informed financial decisions. This initiative underscores Midland Bank’s continued commitment to empowering the younger generation through financial education and inclusion.

The seminar focused on enhancing awareness of financial literacy among students and future professionals, making them aware about financial inclusiveness, sustainable economic development, access to finance and equipping them with essential knowledge to make informed financial decisions. The Bank had setup an information booth at Independent University, Bangladesh from November 16, 2025 to 18th November 2025 to create awareness about banking products and services among the students and faculty members of the University.
