Midland Bank PLC. launched its agent banking service, branded “আপনার সাথে আপনার পাশে”, on 23rd January, 2017 with the objective of expanding modern banking services to the unbanked population. Currently the Bank operates 142 Agent Banking Centre’s in 30 Districts and 81 Upazilas, across the country.
The Bank organized the Annual Agent Banking Conference 2026 at Six Seasons Hotel, Gulshan, Dhaka on 07th February 2026. Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO of the Bank inaugurated the daylong conference as the chief guest and presided over the conference. Agent Banking Centre owners and representatives of Agent Banking Centre’s of the Bank participated in the daylong conference. Amongst others, Md. Zahid Hossain, Deputy Managing Director & CRO and Md. Nazmul Huda Sarkar, Deputy Managing Director and Head of IT & CTO, Javed Tarek Khan, Head of Institutional Banking Division, Members of Midland Bank Agent Banking Rollout Committee, Divisional Heads, Head of Branches, Business Development Officers of Agent Banking Centre’s were also present on the occasion.
The initiative particularly focuses on small entrepreneurs, school banking and farmers, in line with the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion and wider access to banking services across the country. The bank continues to provide both conventional and Islamic agent banking services from the Agent Banking Centre’s. Customers can access a wide range of modern, technology-based conventional and Islamic banking services. Facilities available at Bank’s agent banking outlets include opening savings and current accounts, cash deposits and withdrawals, fund transfers, and cash transfers through BEFTN and RTGS to any bank account. Customers can also receive foreign remittances, apply for cheque books, debit and credit cards, and avail micro, medium and krishi loans.
During the ceremony, doa seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah, for the welfare, progress and prosperity of the Bank’s Agent Banking and the Country as well were held.
A prize giving ceremony was also held at the end of the conference. The Bank distributed crests and certificates among the top performers in different categories.
