Midland Bank disbursed open loan directly to the farmers at 4% interest rate under Bangladesh Bank Refinancing Scheme in agricultural sector

Midland Bank Limited (MDB), under intermediary agreement with Society for Family Happiness and Prosperity (FHP), an NGO, disbursed loans directly to the farmers at 4% interest rate under Bangladesh Bank Refinancing Scheme in the Agricultural sector to ensure food safety initiative of the Country.

The Bank, disbursed Tk. 27 lacs among 27 male and female farmers through an Open Loan Disbursement Ceremony held on January 03, 2024, at the conference hall of FHP, located at Bajitpur Thana, in Kishorgonj District. Total loan amount of Tk.1 crore was sanctioned by Midland Bank for disbursement among 100 farmers out of which, Tk.27.00 was disbursed directly to 27 farmers in Kishorgonj District, during the loan disbursement programme.

on this occasion, Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Midland Bank Ltd. handed over the cheques to the farmers as the chief guest. Mr. Krishno Chandra Das, Executive Director of FHP and Dev Dulal Das, General Secretary of Bajitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries were also present on the occasion as special guests. Among others, Md. Javed Tareq Khan, Head of Institutional Banking Division, MDB, Md. Ahsan Jamil Hossain, Head of SME Banking Division, MDB, Abdul Barik, Head of Panchrukhi Branch, MDB were also present on the occasion along with others Executives and Officers.
