A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Bank’s Head Office on August 26, 2025. between Midland Bank PLC. and Milvik Bangladesh Limited (Swedish HealthTech), a leading provider of innovative digital healthcare services & insurance, that aims to improve healthcare access and delivery in underserved communities. This strategic partnership is set to leverage digital technologies and financial inclusion initiatives to address the growing demand for accessible healthcare, not only in urban areas but also in rural and remote areas.
Mohd. Javed Tarek Khan, SEVP & Head of the Institutional Banking Division at MDB, and Mr. Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, Country Manager, Milvik Bangladesh Limited., signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
The MOU outlines a joint effort to create sustainable healthcare solutions that will improve health outcomes through technology-driven platforms. It will also health insurance packages for every segment of our society. Midland Bank’s expertise in financial services will complement Milvik Bangladesh’s cutting-edge healthcare technologies, focusing on the use of telemedicine, health monitoring, mobile health applications, and digital health records to provide healthcare services to individuals who are geographically distant or unable to access traditional medical facilities.
Key objectives of the collaboration include subscription collection through Agent Banking of Midland Bank PLC, API connection for App-in-App service, special discounts for Midland Bank cardholders, Milvik subscription with the MDB payroll package, and health campaigns for Midland Bank’s corporate clients.
Senior officials from both organizations were present at the signing ceremony, including Mr. Md. Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution Division; Mr. Omar Sharif, Head of Digital Financial Services; Mr. Mohammad Hassibur Rahman, Head of Cash Management; and Mr. Ashrafur Rahman, Relationship Manager, from Midland Bank PLC. and from Milvik Bangladesh Limited, Mr. Mohammad Ishaque, Country Lead (mHealth); Mr. Riaz Mostafa, Country Lead (Finance & Admin); and Mr. Rahat Ikbal, Country Lead (Field Sales).
