Midland Bank PLC. (MDB) handed over a Pay Order of BDT 500,000.00 (Taka Five Lakh only) to The Tech Academy as Silver Sponsor of Team Bangladesh for its participation in the FIRST Global Challenge (FGC) 2026, under the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme in the Education Sector.

The Pay Order was formally handed over by Md. Zahid Hossain, Deputy Managing Director & CRO of Midland Bank PLC., to Shams Jaber, CEO of The Tech Academy, at a ceremony held on August 11, 2026.

The FIRST Global Challenge 2026, a prestigious international robotics competition, is scheduled to be held in Incheon, Republic of Korea, from October 7 to October 10, 2026. Team Bangladesh has been representing the country in this global competition since 2017 and achieved the distinction of becoming World Champion in 2020.

The Tech Academy, Bangladesh’s first robotics school for children, has been actively working to promote STEM education, robotics, innovation and technology among young learners through robotics training, educational programmes and nationwide outreach initiatives.

Midland Bank PLC. extended the sponsorship as part of its commitment to supporting education, youth development, innovation and technology through its CSR initiatives. The Bank believes that supporting Team Bangladesh will encourage young talents to pursue STEM education and innovation while strengthening Bangladesh’s representation on the global robotics platform.
