Midland Bank PLC. in collaboration with Green Business School (GBS) of Green University Bangladesh jointly organized a seminar captioned “Financial Literacy” on Tuesday, August 18, 2025 at GUB Campus.
The seminar was conducted with the aim of equipping students with essential and basic financial skills for taking informed decision for personal financial management.
The speakers explained to the audience the importance of financial literacy along with digital financial literacy, focusing on personal financial planning, budgeting, saving, benefit of compounding, passive income, reserve fund, retirement financial plans, individual financial behavior model (50:30:20 Model) and IT awareness while doing digital banking.
The seminar was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Md. Tareque Aziz, Dean, Green Business School (GBS) as a chief guest who warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of such initiatives. He expressed gratitude to Midland Bank PLC. for their collaboration and encouraged them to organize similar sessions in the future.
The Midland Bank PLC. was represented by Mr. Md. Rashed Akter, Head of the Retail Distribution Division, Financial Literacy Wing and Chief Bancassurance Officer (CBO) and Mr. Mohammad Faruq Ur Rahman, Manager, Financial Literacy Wing, Retail Distribution Division.
The program was also attended by Dr. Mohammad Delwar Hussain, Assistant professor, Accounting & Director, Students Affairs, Mr. Md. Asad Noor, Assistant Professor & Program Coordinator of BBA Program, Mr. A.S.M. Kamrul Islam, Lecturer & Assistant Program Coordinator of BBA Program and other School of Business Faculty members. This successful event not only enhanced students’ understanding of financial literacy but also inspired them to apply the knowledge in managing their personal financial management.
