The Midland Bank PLC. was represented by Mr. Md. Rashed Akter, Head of the Retail Distribution Division and Chief Bancassurance Officer (CBO) and Mr. Mohammad Faruq Ur Rahman, Manager, Financial Literacy Wing, Retail Distribution Division.
The seminar was conducted from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM and aimed at equipping students with essential financial skills and providing insights into career opportunities in the finance and banking sector.
The speakers explained to the audience the importance of financial literacy along with digital financial literacy, focusing on personal financial planning, budgeting, saving, benefit of compounding, passive income, reserve fund, retirement financial plans, individual financial behavior model (50:30:20 Model), IT awareness while doing digital banking.
The seminar was inaugurated by professor by professor Abul Kalam, Dean, School of Business, who warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of such initiatives. He expressed gratitude to Midland Bank PLC. for their collaboration and encouraged them to organize similar sessions in the future.
The program was also attended by professor, Mohammad Zahedur Rahman, Controller of Examinations, Afroza Helen, Director, Admin & Logistics and Office of the Students Affairs and other School of Business Faculty members. This successful event not only enhanced students’ understanding of financial literacy but also inspired them to explore careers in the dynamic field of finance and banking.
