Midland Bank Limited (MDB), organized a training programme titled ‘Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM) Training’ for its Executives and Officers from 31st January to 01st February 2021 through digital platform.

Mr. Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO was present at the concluding ceremony of the training programme along with Mr. Md. Zahid Hossain, DMD and members of the Senior Management Team.
Dr. Kevin Whittington Jones (CES, UK) and Mirza S A Habib (SCL, BD), prominent ESRM experts conducted the training session. Total 24 Executives and Officers of the Bank from Dhaka and Chittagong, participated in the two-day training programme.

During the training, various topics on ESRM were discussed, such as introduction to ESRM and IFC Performance Standard, overview and details of the revised Midland Bank ESRM policy, theoretical introduction to E&S site audits etc. The training also included a session on practical E&S auditing training workshop. This high profile intensive ESRM training together with revision of the Bank’s ESRM policy would help MDB match IFC performance standard in terms of environmental and social risk management.
