Midland Bank Celebrated 8th Anniversary

Midland Bank Limited (MDB), a 4th generation Private Commercial Bank in the country completed 8th year of its commercial operation.

On this auspicious occasion, Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO along with the Senior Management Members of the Bank held a ‘dua’ session in the Board Room of the Bank at Gulshan-2, Dhaka at a simple ceremony today 20th June 2021. Honourable Sponsor Shareholder Kazi Zafarullah, Directors Dr. Kazi Shahidullah and Ahsan Khan Chowdhury joined the event digitally through virtual platform.

Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the Bank distributed essential food and health safety items through its Branches and Sub-Branches among the marginalized people in different districts, who have become unable to make a living due to COVID-19, as part of its anniversary celebration.

Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO in his speech conveyed best wishes and thanks to all for the successful completion of 8th year of the Bank. The Managing Director, while expressing gratefulness to clients, shareholders, regulators and staff, said “We are at the forefront of innovation in services and products and today, we are pleased to announce the introduction of MDB Jhotpot, under which we are launching the digitized version of MDB e-Saver alongside MDB Saalam Islami Banking Window’s MDB Saalam e-Saver, so that our customers can open their account ‘Ghore Boshe’ from home under the self-check-in photo matching model through Midland Bank Website and MDB Mobile App “midland online”.  

He told, MDB has always been in the forefront of implementing technology based solutions. The Bank offers multiple customized solution to its valued customers to meet their varied demands. Digitized version of MDB e-Saver is one of the new addition under the technological advancement of the Bank. Both the savings products are operated under Bangladesh Bank’s simplified e-KYC policy. It can be opened instantly with a National ID Card, selfie photo of self, nominee photo and signature which should match the one in the National ID card.

One can easily open either of the accounts sitting from home through the Bank’s website and thereafter ‘midland online’. One can also access via MDB mobile application on their smart phone. No branch visit is required and no additional paperwork is required if all the uploads conform to the requirements of the Bank for transactions up to Tk 100,000.00. For higher transaction amounts, enhanced e-KYC and documentation and face to face meeting with client maybe required.

The e-Saver accounts are geared towards customers with limited transaction needs but have the usual features of cheque book, Visa Debit Card, SMS alert, ‘midland online’, mobile top up, utility bill payment services, monthly e-statement, fund transfer option via NPSB, BEFTN, bKash, Nagad and Rocket. The MD further added “As we roll-out MDB Jhotpot under which all digital products will be brought under, we are moving further towards becoming a Digital Bank and will be more easily available virtually for everyone anywhere”.

All the Branches of the Bank organized separate anniversary celebration in their respective outlets along with the limited customers and well-wishers (due to Covid 19) on 20th June 2021, on the occasion of the Bank’s 8th Anniversary.
